What is Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)?

Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) is an online branch of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). It is an out-of-court way of dispute settlement that uses technologies to enable the parties resolve their dispute incomparably faster then by traditional ways of mediation or arbitration.

With everything online there is no need to use paper communication allowing for rapid process of neutral appointment, preparing, issuing and delivering the decision to the parties. With the ODR feature Youstice is able to offer fast settlement of the complaint whether parties can or cannot find a mutually agreeable resolution themselves.

If a customer is unable to reach an agreement with a retailer, he or she can ask an ODR provider for an independent decision issued via Youstice platform. The chosen ODR provider will appoint a neutral to prepare and issue the decision.

Other, similar and uncommon terms may include: online arbitration or mediation, Internet Dispute Resolution (iDR), Electronic Dispute, Resolution (eDR), Electronic ADR (eADR), Online ADR (oADR).
